(4) Trains, (2) planes, automobile, another train

Saturday was a travel day, and there was a lot of travelling to get from Baltimore to San Jose.  Fortunately, it did not require a really early start, as I only had to leave the hotel at 11am.

The Light Rail station is just one block from the hotel, so it's quick to get to, but then there was no sign on the departure indicator of the Penn Station bound light rail train.  However, it came anyway and 10 minutes later, I arrive at Baltimore Penn Station.

From Baltimore, I got on the Amtrak train to Washington's Union Station, which is about 45 minutes travel.

Next up was the Washington Metro, which is easy.  I took the Red Line, changed to the Yellow Line at Gallery Place and arrived at Ronald Reagan National Airport in plenty of time.  It's a far more pleasant experience than Dulles for flying in or out of Washington, but it only does domestic flights.

My flight was 3 and a half hours to Denver.  On this flight, I was served a lunch of a chicken salad.  The approach to Denver was a bit bumpy, so everybody was seated for the last 30 minutes of the flight, including the cabin crew.

(Emperor Palpatine:)  Power!  Unlimited power!
I had a couple of hours layover in Denver, so I had an iced coffee and eventually found a working power socket a few gates away, so I was able to recharge my phone.

The flight to San Jose was another 2 and a half hours.  After more bumps on the departure, it was lunch time and I was served a chicken salad.

San Jose is a relatively small airport, so it's quick to get out of.  I took the free Airport Connector to the Airport/Metro station and did not have to wait long for the light rail train to arrive.  This took me to San Antonio station where I could walk the remaining block to my hotel.

I had a quick dinner at the restaurant around the corner, immediately declining all the options that involved chicken or salad.
